OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE  ​ 

The Insights Analyst supports the Procurement Data & Insights function by delivering high-quality, insight-led reporting and market intelligence outputs that inform sourcing and supplier decisions. The role is responsible for translating procurement stakeholder questions into structured insight outputs, combining internal data with external market intelligence. Working with a range of data sources and a market intelligence provider, the Analyst ensures that all outputs are relevant, up-to-date, and accurate, enabling confident decision-making. The role requires strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and the ability to synthesise multiple inputs into clear, commercially focused reports and recommendations. This position plays a key role in ensuring procurement stakeholders are supported with timely, decision-ready insights rather than raw data. The Analyst will provide support to team members on additional tasks and initiatives, as required.

KEY RESPOBSIBILITIES  

•Design, build, and produce insight-led reports that combine internal procurement data with external market intelligence to deliver a holistic, insight-led view of categories, suppliers, and market dynamics.

•Capture and clarify procurement stakeholder requirements for insights and reporting, ensuring outputs are aligned to business needs and priorities.

•Conduct secondary research and data-driven market analysis to understand supplier landscapes, cost drivers, pricing trends, and category dynamics.

•Work with the market intelligence provider to source, interpret, and integrate external insights into procurement-relevant outputs

•Translate complex data and research into clear, concise, and actionable recommendations that support commercially driven procurement decisions.

•Ensure all insights and reports maintain high standards of relevance, recency, and accuracy, validating data across multiple sources where required.

•Support the evaluation of market intelligence providers and outputs, applying critical judgement to ensure relevance, quality, and value.

•Proactively manage stakeholder engagement to ensure timely and accurate insights generation.

•Present research and insights in a logical, coherent and impactful way

TO EXCEL IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL NEED TO HAVE

•Degree-level education in a relevant field (e.g. Economics, Business, Procurement, Supply Chain, Data Analytics, Finance)

•3–5 years of experience in a market intelligence, research, procurement analytics, or consulting. Exposure to procurement or supply chain environments is preferred.

•Experience working with external research sources, market data, or benchmarking tools is advantageous.

•Experience creating structured insight deliverables (e.g. reports, presentations, frameworks).

•Strong proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint, with the ability to analyse data and present insights clearly and effectively.

•Strong ability to simplify complexity, translating detailed data, research, and market dynamics into clear, concise, commercially relevant and decision-ready recommendations tailored to business stakeholders.

•Demonstrates strong intellectual curiosity, with the ability to validate data and assumptions rather than accepting information at face value.

•Proactive, detail-oriented, and motivated team player, comfortable working in a fast-paced, data- and insight-driven environment.

•Demonstrates a strong interest in procurement and supply markets

•Effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, with the ability to tailor insights to different stakeholder audiences.
