GCC Finance Specialist - 6-month Secondment

The Role

  • This is a high-impact operational role supporting Project Polaris, a flagship global finance transformation programme, gaining exposure to a greenfield SSC build and Oracle Fusion programme-scale delivery. The role will generate lasting career capital in GBS and Transformation programmes.
  • Project Polaris is a critical strategic programme for Flutter Finance, this role has an integral part to play as part of the transition and creation of a flagship Global Hub.
  • This role will support finance process transition across the different towers in the Global Hub (incl. RTR, PTP, RTC). The role will be delegated into a specific tower/process.
  • The Sender holds responsibility for documenting processes by engaging with current team members as part of the knowledge transfer (KT) process, then preparing desktop procedures (DTPs) in collaboration with Receivers.
  • Raising issues to Sending Team Leads and supporting the transition of processes and knowledge to the receiving hub.
  • Demonstrate strong accounting expertise, process understanding, and emotional intelligence to facilitate effective knowledge transfer and collaboration.
  • Expect global programme exposure, ERP implementation experience, cross-functional stakeholder management at scale, and involvement in a landmark GBS build.
  • Travel will be expected as part of this role given the global nature of Project Polaris. Travel may be required to UK and European locations

Accountabilities & Responsibilities

Knowledge Transfer Delivery

  • Collaborate with team members to understand processes and synthesise information into complete end-to-end process documentation and key information
  • Provide Receivers with complete and accurate information on processes, systems, and procedures conducted by Senders.
  • Responsible for structured and recurring onboarding of new hires across multiple waves
  • Review detailed Desktop Procedures (DTPs) in collaboration with Receivers to ensure completeness of information
  • Deep process To-Be understanding, enabling the ability to identify redundant tasks to be stopped rather than transitioned
  • Attends and agrees completion of KT sessions
  • Updates KT tracker and escalates to team lead with urgency when required
  • Work collaboratively with Receivers to facilitate effective knowledge transfer and process transition.
  • Work together with Receivers to finalise list of internal and external stakeholders and processes prepared by Receivers.
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of knowledge transfer deliverables; validate documentation quality.
  • Support the development of process documentation and training materials to facilitate knowledge transfer.
  • Coordinate with other Senders to ensure consistency and alignment in knowledge transfer activities.

Issue Escalation & Progress Tracking

  • Raise issues to Sending Team Leads when roadblocks or challenges arise during knowledge transfer.
  • Keep Sending Team Leads updated on progress on a daily basis, raising any issues or concerns.
  • Attend weekly calls with Sending Team Leads to provide progress updates and escalate blockers.

Skills & Capabilities

Essential

  • Strong accounting process expertise and domain knowledge across either RTR, RTC, PTP, Tax, Treasury Internal Controls or Finance Tech; ability to develop deep understanding of assigned processes and procedures.
  • Experience creating and maintaining programme documentation, (e.g. project plans, risk registers, status updates)
  • Proven capability to work across cultures and geographies
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to convey complex accounting and process information clearly and concisely.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with Senders and other Receivers; strong teamwork and partnership mindset.
  • Strong attention to detail and drive to improve quality; commitment to accuracy in knowledge transfer.
  • Process understanding and documentation skills; ability to articulate and document complex processes clearly.
  • Ability to raise issues and concerns clearly and professionally; proactive communication style.

Desirable

  • Strong emotional intelligence; ability to build relationships, and manage interpersonal dynamics effectively.
  • Proactive learning mindset; ability to absorb complex information and develop capability quickly.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Qualified or experienced accountant in finance operations or similar accounting role; with ~5 to 7 years PQE
  • Strong accounting knowledge and expertise in assigned process areas is essential.
  • Demonstrated experience in process documentation and knowledge transfer activities is essential.
  • Experience in a GBS, or large scale finance transformation environment is advantageous
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively across teams and locations; strong interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (Oracle experience advantageous); Strong Microsoft Office Skills
  • Exposure to the online gaming industry is an advantage
  • Ability to work effectively in a multi-entity, multi-location environment.
  • Strong communication and mentoring skills; ability to support learning and development.
