OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE

Flutter's People Analytics function is evolving rapidly as we scale our use of data, automation, and AI to support global business decision-making.
 

We are seeking a Senior Manager – Governance & Technology to define the governance frameworks, technology strategy, and operating standards that underpin our global People Analytics ecosystem. This role will ensure that data, analytics, and AI capabilities are delivered responsibly, securely, and in line with evolving regulatory requirements, including GDPR , emerging AI regulations such as the EU AI Act , and Flutter's Responsible AI principles.
 

As a senior leader, you will shape the strategic direction of governance and technology within People Analytics, balancing innovation with risk management, regulatory compliance, and business value. You will partner closely with leaders across businesses to establish data foundations, enable responsible AI adoption, and deliver scalable, future-ready technology solutions.
 

You will also lead a team of governance and technology specialists, ensuring Flutter continues to operate at the forefront of data governance, AI governance, and responsible innovation.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Governance and Risk Leadership

  • Establish and oversee governance frameworks covering data quality, reporting standards, controls, metadata management, and data lifecycle governance.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies, global data protection regulations, and emerging AI governance requirements.
  • Lead governance reviews, audits, risk assessments, and regulatory responses relating to People data, analytics, and reporting.
  • Act as the subject matter expert on governance, compliance, and risk management within the People Analytics function.

2. Technology and AI Strategy

  • Define and execute the People Analytics technology roadmap, ensuring scalable, secure, and future-ready solutions.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies, data platforms, automation capabilities, and AI tools, balancing innovation with governance and business value.
  • Act as the senior authority for Responsible AI within the People domain, ensuring AI-enabled solutions meet appropriate standards for governance, transparency, oversight, and risk management.
  • Partner with Technology and Architecture teams to strengthen the People Analytics data and technology ecosystem.

3. Executive Partnership & Business Enablement

  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior leaders, translating complex data, governance, and technology concepts into actionable business recommendations.
  • Influence strategic decision-making by balancing innovation, risk mitigation, regulatory obligations, and commercial value.
  • Build strong partnerships across Technology, Data, Legal, Security, Risk, and HR functions to drive alignment, adoption, and enterprise-wide consistency.
  • Present strategic recommendations, risks, and governance outcomes to senior leadership stakeholders.

4. Leadership and Team Development

  • Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team of governance and technology specialists.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, innovation, and technical excellence.
  • Build succession plans and strengthen organisational capability across governance and technology disciplines.

TO EXCEL IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL NEED:
 

Mandatory Skills -

  • Seasoned Experience: A veteran leader with 15 to 20 years of experience across Data, Analytics, Technology, Governance, AI, or related disciplines.
  • Leadership Mastery: 8+ years of people management experience, with a proven track record of coaching technical SMEs and developing future leaders.
  • Data Governance Expertise: 8+ years of experience designing and implementing enterprise-scale data governance frameworks, including data quality, metadata management, controls, reporting standards, and lifecycle governance.
  • Regulatory & Risk Management: Strong knowledge of GDPR, AI governance frameworks, the EU AI Act, and responsible AI principles, with experience operating within regulated global environments.
  • Technology & Architecture acumen: Strong understanding of modern data architectures, analytics platforms, automation technologies, AI-enabled solutions, and emerging technology trends.
  • Executive Presence: Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence senior leaders and drive complex cross-functional initiatives.
  • Commercial Mindset: Ability to balance innovation, governance, risk management, and business value when evaluating technology and AI investments.

Preferred Skills -

  • Experience within People Analytics, HR Technology, Workforce Analytics, or related functions.
  • Familiarity with Workday, Workday Prism, cloud-based analytics platforms, and enterprise reporting ecosystems.
  • Experience supporting machine learning governance, model validation, bias monitoring, or Responsible AI programmes.
  • Exposure to global employment data regulations and HR-related compliance considerations.
