We’re  looking for  a  Director of Category Management and Sourcing  to join  us at Flutter.   

The Procurement function in Flutter is responsible for the end-to-end procurement of over $6bn of external third party spend across the global organisation.

This role, reporting to MD of Procurement and Partnerships, is a key role in the Procurement leadership team and will be responsible for developing and delivering Category Management capabilities across Flutter, maximising coordination across the company and delivering incremental commercial value to the business whilst mitigating risk. The ability to influence and deliver both internally and externally with our key partners up to ExCo and Board level and across Divisions and Functional experts is critical to the success of this role.

The role requires deep strategic insight on Flutter globally to synthesise and articulate our priorities, educate strategic partners about Flutter’s priorities to create long term plans that deliver value. The is a leadership role, working collaboratively across Flutter, will enable the Flutter Edge by showing up as one organisation with our suppliers where doing so adds strategic value to Flutter.

What  you ’ll  do    

  • Deliver global category plans across our strategic categories, working closely with existing Procurement teams in Flutter Functions and our Regions across $6.6bn of spend (which is forecast to grow)
  • Lead high value and high impact strategic initiatives to create value with our suppliers and optimise costs. Partner closely with existing Procurement teams to ensure Flutter maximises its leverage and value.
  • Develop and manage key strategic supplier partnerships, focusing on long-term relationships that drive mutual value particularly in the areas of technology, marketing and payments, operations, sports and casino.
  • Lead initiatives across Flutter on innovation and continuous improvement in products, processes and technologies in conjunction with strategic suppliers. This role will facilitate joint problem-solving and identify opportunities for co-development and value-added collaboration.
  • Equip Flutter's global stakeholders with the necessary tools, capabilities, resources, and knowledge to effectively identify, synthesise, engage and deliver strategic partnerships with Flutter across the globe working closely with ExCo and senior leaders to achieve this.
  • Collaborate closely with ExCo, senior leadership and internal stakeholders globally to align supplier activities with Flutters objectives and key results.
  • Establish and monitor performance metrics (OKRs) for strategic suppliers; work with suppliers to improve performance, delivery and identify areas for value creation.
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams such as procurement, technology, marketing and legal to ensure strategic supplier partnerships align with business needs and deliver results.
  • Establishing strong relationships with senior stakeholders at ExCo and Board level, across Divisions and specialised Functions to identify, assess and optimise Strategic Partnerships across Flutter globally
  • Management of a team of Strategic Partnership specialists who provide guidance and support to Divisional leadership teams  
  • Provide leadership and direction to the overall function as part of the Flutter Functions Procurement Leadership team

How  you ’ll  do it   

  • You’ll have significant experience in a global organisation in a leadership or strategy role with an external view
  • Proven experience in global strategy execution and delivery
  • Proven leadership skills dealing with diverse team members and colleagues
  • Ability to influence and engage with Senior colleagues up to and including ExCo and Board and across divisions and functional experts on a global scale
  • Experience in large complex organisations delivering large strategic procurement projects and high value negotiations
  • An expert communicator with proven collaboration skills explaining complex issues internal and external stakeholders globally
  • Extremely customer-focused and takes the time to understand the needs of the business
  • Experienced in working in a large, global, federal organisation
  • Strong analytical skills including the ability to quickly analyse, distil and draw conclusions on large amounts of disparate data with experience in optimising commercial models and assessing total cost of ownership and make vs buy opportunities
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Passionate self-starter with the highest level of integrity and ethics
