Finance Manager - Transformation - 18 Month FTC

Role purpose

Flutter’s Global Financial Reporting Strategy team is currently looking for a Finance Manager – Transformation to join our team and support our Global Finance transformation programme. At Flutter, we always strive to make our processes better, more efficient and scalable to support the growing size of the Group. We want to make sure that we utilize our various IT Systems to their potential and that we enable our teams to deliver complete, accurate, reliable and timely financial information to internal partners.

In this role, the successful candidate will be responsible to work through and deliver on special projects supporting operational improvement initiatives and automation within our team. You will be tapping in to and gaining knowledge in various areas our team deals with and will be working closely with Flutter’s Internal Controls team to ensure any changes to existing processes are detailed and have sufficient internal controls over them.

In this role, the successful candidate will be working closely with finance colleagues from across our Group functions and Divisions as well as IT, Tax, Internal Controls and others.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

  • Drive and deliver on Global Finance Transformation projects from start to finish, ensuring they are completed on time and with accuracy.
  • Support on the delivery of a new consolidation and external reporting system within our new technology solution, comprising Oracle Fusion and related Oracle modules including Financial Consolidation and Close System (FCCS) in EPM.
  • Support the project team and the Group Accounting & Reporting team through quarterly and annual external reporting as we transition from our legacy financial reporting environment to the new financial reporting environment across 2 years and 4 waves of deployment.
  • Develop and lead project plans, outlining schedules, progress achievements and achievable deliverable timeframes, ensuring you can achieve success for each project.
  • Ensure accurate documentation and audit trail over deliverables
  • Collaborate with teams across the business including Group finance, Tax, Legal, IT, Internal Controls and Divisions to delivery of project plans.

Skills & Experience

  • University degree or equivalent experience in finance/ accounting
  • Accounting Designation with experience post qualification, preferably in a big 4/ large public company environment
  • Experience in a combination of consolidations, accounting and financial reporting and working in a SOX internal controls environment
  • An operational improvement outlook; track record of design, implementation and operationalization of process improvements and controls
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and work with multiple partners while consistently meeting deadlines
  • Proactive, well organised and thorough, with close attention to detail
  • A keen strategic problem solver with the ability to set objectives and priorities
  • Ability to work individually and as part of a team in a dynamic environment
  • Excellent analytical, interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong communication skills; Ability to optimally deal with colleagues across all areas of the business
  • Adept at dealing with high volumes of data and comfortable in a highly automated environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to challenge and be challenged.
  • Experience with Oracle ERP and FCCS or other similar financial systems an advantage.
  • Excellent MS Office skills particularly Excel
  • Experience in a SOX environment is an asset
  • US GAAP knowledge a plus but not compulsory
