Role Overview/Purpose

We are looking to recruit a Finance Manager on a 2 year Fixed Term Contract at Flutter. This is a crucial role in the newly established Centre of Excellence, focusing on Global Opex and Operational Excellence. You will report directly to the Financial Controller – Reward and Real Estate, and be responsible for all aspects of Payroll accounting, including month-end accounting for all payrolls managed by the function. Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting and Accounting

  • Ownership of all aspects of Payroll accounting, including the month-end accounting process
  • Ensure accurate reporting is maintained, investigate/review issues, and challenge the business where necessary
  • Guarantee accounting information is produced and published in accordance with relevant accounting rules (US GAAP, IFRS, Irish/UK GAAP)
  • Manage the accounting and reporting process to meet set deadlines
  • Approve relevant balance sheet reconciliations and ensure balancing discrepancies are accurately addressed and completed by the team.
  • Provide reports, analysis, and information according to set deadlines and customer requirements
  • Proactively add new value by reviewing and improving reports and analysis.
  • Operate a robust cost accruals process to ensure costs are accurately accrued within tight deadlines.
  • Proactively manage balance sheet controls, ownership, and review of all balance sheet items owned by the retail team
  • Ensure timely completion of assigned taxation and statutory reporting obligations

Process and Procedures

  • Collaborate with GFC colleagues, divisional Heads of Finance, and Divisional Commercial teams to continually improve the monthly accounts close process
  • Continuously review processes and procedures in light of changes in systems and business requirements
  • Work collaboratively with related finance teams to achieve wider finance/organizational goals and efficiencies
  • Pursue opportunities to reduce the monthly close process duration without compromising the quality of the information produced
  • Ensure processes and procedures within your area of responsibility are detailed and robust.

Internal and External Partnership

  • Partner with Finance teams within the GFC and commercial teams within supported Divisions to ensure accurate and timely accounting information production
  • Support Finance teams in delivering the required information to their business units
  • Collaborate with Finance teams in the budget and forecasting process to meet Group timelines
  • Engage proactively with internal and external audits when required
  • Support related teams within Finance to produce the best outcomes for finance and the company

Education, Qualifications & Experience

  • Qualified accountant with 3+ years of experience in a similar environment and a proven track record in financial reporting/analysis
  • Keen attention to detail and a drive to improve quality
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with collaborators and performance manage direct reports.
  • Ability to explain financial concepts to non-financial staff confidently and professionally
  • Comfortable dealing with high volumes of data and adept in a highly automated environment
  • Ability to work as part of a team in a dynamic environment
  • Experience with Oracle ERP or similar financial systems is an advantage
  • Excellent MS Office skills, particularly Excel
