On 14th May 2024, it was announced that Flutter would be moving its primary listing from the UK to the US,  and its global operational headquarters from Dublin to New York (effective 31st May 2024).

The Role:

Flutter’s Group Reporting team is currently looking for a Sr. Finance Manager to join our team to lead the Group’s ESG Reporting workstream. With new legislation and reporting requirements, this is an exciting, new and developing area finance teams are being asked to bring their knowledge and expertise into. In this role you will be responsible for designing and implementing effective and sustainable processes across the Group to be able to collect and report on ESG related KPIs. These processes will be designed to include SOX level internal controls over data collection, processing and through to disclosures. You will be working closely with our Sustainability team to ensure we reach our collective goals and objectives and in continuously monitoring the regulatory landscape and evolving reporting requirements. You will also be working with our Financial Systems team to ensure we utilize our IT systems and technologies to support ESG data collection and reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build and lead Flutter’s ESG Reporting team to support all ESG reporting
  • Design, develop and implement ESG Reporting within finance; Develop standardized policies and processes across the Flutter Group relating to ESG reporting (e.g., KPI definitions, disclosure controls and procedures, reporting timelines, data collection methods etc.)
  • Ensure scalability of above policies and processes for onboarding and integration of potential future M&A
  • Work with teams across the Business to develop/ enhance and operationalize data collection and process flows, including working with our IT Systems, leveraging technologies.
  • Design and work with teams across the Group to implement SOX level controls over the end-to-end processes, from data sources through to disclosures
  • Coordinate and manage the audit process over ESG disclosures with Flutter’s external auditors, as required (limited assurance 2025, full audit from 2026)
  • Monitor, alongside our Sustainability and Legal teams, the evolving global regulatory ESG reporting landscape covering Irish, EU and SEC reporting requirements, to ensure all requirements are met. Adjust processes to adhere to the changing landscape.
  • Work in close collaboration with various teams and stakeholders across the Group, including Sustainability, Systems, HR, IR, External Reporting, Internal Controls and others as may be required
  • Provide training and guidance to relevant teams across the Group on reporting governance: processes, controls, audit trail, materiality etc.
  • Consider Group Reporting requirements as well as Local requirements for our subsidiaries (e.g Australia)

Skills & Qualifications:

  • University degree in finance/ accounting
  • Accounting Designation with 10+ years of experience post qualification, preferably in a big 4/ large public company environment
  • Experience in a combination of consolidations, accounting and financial reporting and working in a SOX internal controls environment. Prior ESG reporting experience is a plus.
  • Proven track record of design, implementation and operationalization of efficient and effective processes and controls
  • Experience in building and managing teams; mentoring, developing and motivating staff
  • Proven track record in managing multiple priorities and working with multiple stakeholders while consistently meeting deadlines
  • Strong business acumen, communication, presentation and interpersonal skills; A team player.

  • Ability to thrive working in a highly dynamic, fast-paced environment and embrace change
  • Working closely and collaboratively with multiple stakeholders across all levels and teams within an organization
  • Strong critical and logical thinking; comfort with ambiguity

  • Relevant professional certifications in ESG fields are a plus.
