Role Overview
We are at an exciting stage of the Group People Analytics evolution within Flutter as we advance both our product base and capabilities. Reporting into the Governance and Technology Senior Leader, the Data Governance Officer will be involved in all aspects of a Data Governance lifecycle within HR Operations.
They will be part of a team of go-to data governance domain experts and will be encouraged to drive a standard process DG culture that results in industry leading efficiencies, accountability, and stakeholder trust in our data management.
This is an excellent opportunity in this new capability, where the role will have the opportunity to directly shape the overarching DG strategy and framework foundations.
Responsibilities
- Be an ambassador for a best practice data governance framework embedding as a core value-add function
- Interpretation, adoption and assurance of various internal and external compliance standards including Sarbanes Oxley, GDPR etc
- Assisting the Governance and Technology Senior Leader with data governance strategy and leadership within HR Operations, in accordance with our data compliance obligations, risk appetite and commercial strategy and objectives.
- Involved in all aspects of the Data Governance framework design and assurance, to facilitate the implementation of robust data management practices that directly improve our ability to meet compliance obligations, reduce risks and deliver commercial objectives.
- Providing professional data governance advice and support to HR Operations as a proactive and approachable authority.
- Monitoring, research and interpretation of external and internal business environment to ensure the Data Governance framework aligns with standard process.
- Creating, maintaining, refining and obtaining assurance of implementation of data governance policies, standards, procedures and related documentation.
- Conducting ongoing assurance, through metrics and measurement, on policy and standards implementation, particularly in the areas of data quality, data lineage and traceability, and organisation of data through metadata management.
- An experienced data governance professional with recent and in-depth data governance specific experience.
- Deep, practical domain expertise in the areas of data quality, metadata management, data cataloging and data lineage.
- Consistent track record of leading and delivering data governance programs and frameworks within in a similar type of business and challenging commercial environment.
- Expertise in implementing and maintaining enterprise-grade data governance software platforms.
- Proficiency in working with enterprise-grade business management and collaboration tooling and methodologies
- Ideally a related professional qualification e.g. data governance certifications by DAMA International, IAIDQ or TDWI
