Overview
The Group Payments Strategy team is responsible for bringing the ‘Flutter Edge’ to life across the group’s payment activities. Building a clear, multi-year payments strategy and medium-term focus areas that will enable Flutter’s growth ambitions and ensure we continue to meet user needs across our markets. This involves building and maintaining our long-term payments strategy, identifying the delineation between group objectives and what needs to be driven by local teams in each division, as well as actively tracking and supporting the adoption of payment innovations across the world.
As part of the Group Payments Strategy team, within the Group COO function, the Payments Strategy Manager will work with a wide variety of partners across the Group and external third parties to facilitate development and delivery of this multi-year, group-wide payments strategy for Flutter.
This role requires an expert payments professional to support the Director in the leadership of payments from a global perspective. They will work closely with the local divisional teams and group procurement help coordinate payment activities and strategy development across the group and enable significant commercial growth
Key Responsibilities

Develop and implement a long-term payments strategy, aligning group and divisional objectives.

Build strong relationships with stakeholders to secure on board and ensure strategic alignment.

Balance divisional needs with group-wide growth and cost-efficiency opportunities.

Assess global payments trends and their impacts on Flutter and its divisions.

Lead workshops, strategic evaluations, and case development to guide decisions.

Optimize payment provider performance and identify cost-efficient third-party solutions.

Communicate strategy effectively, delivering Ex-Co-ready proposals and updates.
Key Skills & Requirements

Proven experience developing payment strategies in FinTech, banking, or central banks.

Extensive experience in merchant payment systems, including expertise in payment processing, gateways, and the broader payments ecosystem.

Deep understanding of global payments trends, operational dynamics, and regulatory landscapes.

Expertise in strategy design, operating models, and customer engagement.

Strong commercial acumen with experience navigating payment data and third-party arrangements.

Excellent relationship-building, workshop facilitation, and analytical skills.

Exceptional communication, storytelling, and problem-solving abilities.

Highly organized, dedicated, and capable of handling multiple projects.

Preferably, experience in the online gaming industry.
