The Group uses a divisional management and operating structure across its companies: each division has an empowered management team, which is responsible for maintaining momentum and growth in its respective markets.
On 14th May 2024, it was announced that Flutter would be moving its primary listing from the UK to the US, and its global operational headquarters from Dublin to New York (effective 31st May 2024).
The Senior Finance Manager will play a key role in managing key accounting processes for the entire Flutter Group, in line with US GAAP and IFRS and within a SOX internal controls framework. With this role, you will gain unique insight and knowledge in respect of the overall Group and its divisions. You will work closely with multiple teams across the organization and have direct exposure to senior management.
In this role, the successful candidate will primarily manage the end-to-end accounting process associated with Share Based Compensation Awards and will oversee the Group’s accounting processes for Leases and for Capitalization of Internally Developed Software (‘Devex’), as well as some additional responsibilities relating to Group Reporting. The successful candidate will be a key contact and subject matter expert to, and work closely with, multiple teams across the Group’s brands, divisions and operations. The successful candidate will also drive system implementation as well as other process improvement initiatives to deliver efficiencies.
Key responsibilities for the role will be:
- Drive the implementation and automation of the Share Based Compensation accounting process utilizing a third-party system.
- Standardize the SBC process across all divisions
- Support divisions through standardization and maintenance of the Group’s Lease reporting tool
- Support divisions through standardization, implementation and maintenance of Devex reporting tool
- Additional responsibilities and ownership in other areas within Group Reporting.
The successful candidates will be able to demonstrate strong business acumen, a process improvement mindset, ability to build and maintain strong and productive working relationships with a broad range of business customers and across the wider Finance and Corporate communities. These elements will be combined with a proven ability to deliver results, by collaborating with colleagues and peers, both cross functionally and cross jurisdictionally.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the end-to-end accounting process for Share Based Compensation (SBC):
o Own and manage SBC related forecasting, working closely with divisions, Rewards teams and FP&A
o Support the month end close process by posting SBC related journals entries and explaining variances to budget/ forecast
o Continue to standardise the SBC process across all divisions
o Support and own related external reporting disclosure requirements (10K, 10Q and IFRS financial statements) relating to SBC
- Oversee the continued implementation of a 3rd party solution for tracking and reporting on Devex, working closely with divisions to ensure consistent application of the Group accounting policy and internal controls thereon
- Manage the Group’s 3rd party Lease reporting tool and work closely with divisions to ensure consistent application of the Group accounting policy and internal controls thereon, in both US GAAP and IFRS
- Support and own external reporting disclosure requirements relating to Leases
- Manage direct reports providing guidance, support, opportunities for learnings and development
- Other Ad-Hoc tasks and responsibilities
Skills and Capabilities:
- University degree in finance/ accounting
- Accounting Designation with 5+ years of experience post qualification, preferably in a multi-national environment
- Strong knowledge of both US GAAP and IFRS in general and specific to Share Based Payments, Leases, Devex
- Experience working in a SOX internal controls environment
- Proven track record in identifying and implementing process improvements
- Ability to work in a highly dynamic, fast-paced environment and embrace change
- Ability to meet tight deadlines
- Strong knowledge of financial accounting processes, policies and systems
