Senior Financial Accountant - Reward & Real Estate

In this role, you will be part of the Global Financial Control Team (GFC), supporting the entire group in the areas of Corporation Tax (CT) and VAT. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Preparation and maintenance of Balance Sheet Recs in the areas of VAT and CT across the Group and divisions to a SOX standard.
  • Assisting with the production of month-end numbers for CT and VAT related costs within Group Reporting deadlines.
  • Assisting the Tax team with the preparation and reconciliation of tax returns across the entire Group.
  • Collaborating with the Tax and FP&A finance teams to prepare budgets and forecasts that meet Group timelines.
  • Working with all teams within the GFC to ensure accurate and timely accounting information is produced in accordance with their requirements.
  • Assisting the FP&A and Group finance teams in analyzing the CT and VAT position of companies across the group, with a primary emphasis on quarterly reporting and recognizing potential advantages and challenges.
  • Ensuring processes and procedures are documented and robust.
  • Acting as a point of contact for internal and external audit for CT and VAT GL accounting queries.
  • Proactively engaging in cross-training initiatives, particularly in the areas of VAT and Corporation Tax.
  • Identifying and implementing key projects and processes for automation and improvement.
  • Performing any other tasks assigned as appropriate.

To be successful in this role, you should have the following qualifications and skills:

  • Qualified accountant with strong academic credentials, such as an honors degree, and experience gained in industry or practice, preferably in a plc/multi-national environment.
  • Solid experience in managing the delivery of internal Financial Management Accounts to a broad and diverse range of revenue and cost centers.
  • Experience in the preparation of Balance Sheet Reconciliations to a SOX standard would be an advantage.
  • Experience in a plc environment, with multiple ledgers and companies, using Oracle and Hyperion financial systems would be desirable.
  • Retail, e-commerce, and/or betting and gaming industry experience would be a distinct advantage.
