The Flutter tax team reports directly into the group’s CFO and is a high-profile tax function within a fast-moving and rapidly growing business.  The Gaming Tax team is a commercially focussed team that manages all revenue-based taxes within a highly regulated UK and international industry e.g., gambling taxes, VAT, DSTs.  These taxes can have a critical impact on the business model and provide interesting and exciting challenges.

The role

The post holder will report to an experienced Senior Manager and will support the Gaming Tax team by ensuring that all relevant gaming tax compliance obligations are met, alongside liaising with a large number of tax authorities and local advisors across the world.

Responsibilities

  • Preparation of Gaming Tax calculations across all of our brands and licences, working with accountants/advisors in foreign jurisdictions, ensuring filing and payment obligations are met on time.
  • Develop an understanding of Gaming Tax regulations across our licences to assist in the management of risk within compliance filings.
  • Develop an understanding of the Group’s products to assist in the optimisation of the amount of tax payable across our licences.
  • Assist in the completion of Gaming Tax Audits and deal with any adhoc queries from Tax Authorities.
  • Develop relationships across the business and respond to gaming tax queries, supported by the Senior Gaming Tax Manager.
  • Work alongside Finance to manage queries arising from both statutory audit and internal audit processes.

Experience

  • Must have a minimum of an accounting or tax qualification AAT/ATT level or equivalent.
  • Good Microsoft Excel skills with particular focus on formulas are desirable.
  • Training will be provided on-the-job, so whilst prior experience in the gambling industry is not required, an interest in the products could be advantageous.
  • Team player who can communicate well across a range of channels and audiences and work with stakeholders across the organisation to get things done.
  • Must be self-motivated and possess excellent organisation and project management skills.
