About the role

You will be at the coalface of designing, building, and transforming the risk management ecosystem for a large global organisation, which has trebled its revenue in three years and is looking ahead with major strategic ambitions. Key responsibilities

  • Delivery of immediate enhancement opportunities for Flutter Group Enterprise Risk management, supporting Group Director of Risk management in delivering our Enterprise Risk Management Strategy; designing and embedding Risk enhancements with our Divisions
  • Supporting the Group Risk Programme of strategic initiatives, responsible for designing and delivering related projects, risk frameworks and policies, partnering with the wider business in our divisions to support rollout of new or updated risk frameworks.
  • Support Group Risk team in delivering first line risk management services for Group functions, through insightful analytics, effective governance, the design and maintenance of enterprise risk management frameworks, oversight of compliance with minimum standards, and the monitoring and assurance of controls testing and thematic reviews where appropriate.
  • Support the mitigation and management of risks through deeper understanding of our control environment effectiveness across global business lines- ensuring monitoring, escalation, and appropriate mitigation of identified exposures that exceed our risk appetite.
  • Supporting senior management, Flutter PLC Board and our executives through delivery of insightful reporting to monitor our risk profile, building risk toolkits, metrics and dashboards.
  • Enhancing our risk culture across Flutter through delivery of risk training where appropriate.

Desirable Skillset:

  • Experience: 7+ years’ experience, with a significant portion of this focussed on second line risk management, controls assessment, oversight, thematic review, operational and non- financial risk management. A focus on designing, delivering and implementing operational and enterprise risk management strategies is strongly advantageous, as is change management programme experience, ideally with exposure to successful large scale risk transformation programmes in large multinational organisations.
  • Technical Expertise : Expertise in enterprise, operational, financial and/or investment risk management in a fast-paced commercial environment is required.  A passion for understanding complex problems, and tailoring simple solutions is essential. An understanding of enterprise risk management frameworks is required. Demonstrated expertise in non-financial risk & control assessment and management is required.
  • People management : Experience of delivering change, driving impact and influencing outcomes in teams based across multiple time-zones and regulatory jurisdictions simultaneously is advantageous. An understanding of corporate governance and the fiduciary duties of board directors is required. Strong stakeholder management is an essential requirement.
  • Communication :  Excellent communication and relationship building skills, with the ability to articulate complicated matters in simple language and influence senior stakeholders essential.
